Amlan International Receives Patent in China for Intestinal Health Formulation

CHICAGO— Amlan International recently received a patent in China for its formulated intestinal health products. The products have three distinct modes of action that work together to strengthen the intestinal environment of livestock.

Patents for the same formula are currently pending in the United States and additional strategic countries. “Science and research are the foundation of our discovery process to naturally improve animal performance by protecting intestinal health,” says Ron Cravens, President, Amlan International, a Nevada corporation. “The issuance of the patent in China is further validation of our development strategy and the value of both our research and products.”

The patent covers two products specifically formulated for their respective species. In poultry, Varium improves feed efficiency, promotes growth and reduces mortality while replacing or enhancing existing antibiotic growth promoters. NeoPrime stimulates a healthy intestinal environment and primes the immune system for improved post-weaning piglet performance. The feed additives are being continuously proven efficacious in the field by outperforming competitive products and enabling producers to maximize both revenue and profit.

“An emerging focus in animal health is promoting the growth of livestock by strengthening the intestinal barrier to resist disease,” Cravens says. “Amlan is at the forefront of developing natural solutions that allow the animal to naturally defend itself by reducing intestinal pathogens and their biotoxins.” In 2013, the company’s global reach expanded with the establishment of a subsidiary in Shenzhen, China. Argentina’s Top Poultry Producers Visit Chicago for Insight on AGP Alternatives

Argentina’s Top Poultry Producers Visit Chicago for Insight on AGP Alternatives

CHICAGO—Argentina’s largest poultry producers and integrators recently traveled to Chicago to gain insight on current production practices and emerging solutions available from the U.S. market. The group, accompanied by representatives from Elanco, the biggest distributor of antibiotics in Argentina, attended a special presentation and discussion about Varium, a new non-antibiotic growth promoter from Amlan International. They also toured the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and gained insight on grain markets from Celina Mesquida, agricultural analyst at RJ O’Brien.

“The group had a lively discussion about trends in poultry production and the changing approach to antibiotic use,” said Dr. Ron Cravens, President of Amlan International, a Nevada Corporation. “Our team was thrilled to share the results of our clinical studies, which show that Varium promotes broiler growth equivalent to antibiotics by reducing the level of pathogens and harmful biotoxins that damage the intestinal lining, stimulating early immune function, and strengthening the intestinal barrier function.”

Elanco serves as Amlan International’s distribution partner in Japan and most countries in Latin America.

Calibrin‐Z Gains OMRI Listed Status, Gives Organic Producers Access to Bacterial Toxin Binder

Calibrin‐Z Gains OMRI Listed Status, Gives Organic Producers Access to Bacterial Toxin Binder

CHICAGO, IL— Calibrin‐Z, which recently became the first product approved for the control of disease‐causing bacterial toxins, has gained listed status from the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI). This approval confirms the product can be used in certified organic production according to the USDA National Organic Program Rule.

Calibrin‐Z is a broad spectrum bacterial and fungal toxin adsorbent for use in livestock that has proven in more than 70 clinical studies to reduce effects from a broad spectrum of biotoxins that cause disease such as those produced by Clostridium perfringens, E. coli and Salmonella.

Recently completed work from the USDA demonstrates the ability of the product to control toxins produced by pathogenic bacteria, which are a leading source of economic loss to the global livestock industry.

“As the recently completed clinical research demonstrates, Calibrin‐Z is the only product to control the broadest range of bacterial and fungal toxins, which makes its OMRI Listed status extremely beneficial to organic and conventional producers alike,” said, Dr. Ron Cravens, President, Amlan International.

The Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) is a third party institute that provides organic certifiers, growers, manufacturers and suppliers with an independent review of products intended for use in certified organic production, handling and processing.
